Hello, Josephine here
First post ever. Hopefully there will be more and I will find the time and motivation to write more frequently. You see I work long hours and commute which doesn't help. But this is a way of modifying my lifestyle. I have dreams and wishes and I have always been told that if you put your dreams in the ether then they will become true.
Me - I am married, a mother, a grandmother all of which are wonderful, at times. I work in the criminal justice system and commute, so I have very little time. But day by day I will modify my life, so that I work to live, rather than live to work. Don't get me wrong I like my job. Its supportive and interesting, but after years of working with people who offend I have a skewed view of life.
I have a love of history, and volunteer for the National Trust as a room steward. I spend my weekdays discussing, robbery, burglary and victimisation and my weekends discussing Victorian immorality and where did the Victorians go to the toilet. It gives me balance and is such a lot of fun. Really when evaluating my life I am just like Hilda Odgen, I love delving into other peoples business and lives.
So what can you hope to read. Well, I love people and meet the most amazing characters, some who have offended, others that I have had the pleasure to work with, others who should really be buried. I hope to post stories, characterisations, and some of the wonderful and not so wonderful things that have happened to me. Over time you will learn that I have the most appalling sense of direction and my family inform me that this is probably my most annoying trait. They just cannot figure out how I can get lost and travel so many miles just to get back home. I have promised my husband that one day I will end up in Paris. (My favourite city).
So expect posts from France, Selfridges (my favourite shop) and the some of the sublime things in life that my friends have come to expect from me.
Josephine :)
